At 15 VDT launches 4G LTE Advance Service

By SAMSON AKINTARO

VDT Communications, an enterprise solution provider for corporate organisations has made a move into the retail business segment with the launch of 4G LTE advanced service offering in Lagos, Nigeria.

The new service, launched on the same day the company celebrated its 15 years of operations, offers subscribers more bandwidth for real broadband service.

According to Mr Abiodun Omoniyi, the company’s Managing Director, the launch of VDT’s 4G LTE Advanced service was  a consequence of the acquisition of 2.3GHZ spectrum by Bitflux Communications consortium of which VDT Communications is a member. Omoniyi reaffirmed his company’s commitment to delivering world-class services evident in VDT’s acquisition of international service delivery certifications. “This will be replicated in our 4G LTE Advanced retail market. For us excellence is not a destination but a journey towards ensuring that our customers are taken care of,” he added.

Speaking on the company’s 15 years journey, Omoniyi said: “It’s been interesting running business and providing services to organisations for 15 years. Not many companies have come this far, because the Nigerian business environment is very harsh and has led to many companies going under. But for 15 years, VDT Communications has made appreciable mark in business; hence we decided to celebrate our success story in the past 15 years with our partners and friends.

Our growth and successes achieved over the last 15 years have been centred around corporate organisations but going forward, our plans is to explore more retail business in Nigeria, in relation to our service offerings”, he said.

On the new service, Omoniyi said the 4G LTE advanced service, would be offered as a retail broadband service to deliver data to mobile devices at the speed of light. “It addresses data services in desktop and mobile devices. We have the smaller units of it like MiFi that provides data signals to mobile devices that are compliant with Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. We have covered Lagos Island, Victoria Island, Ikoyi, and we are planning to cover Ikeja in Lagos, before the end of the month”, he said.

“Our 4GLTE Advance is unique because it is very fast and it is based on quality service provision. We are the first company to offer 4G Advance technology and it comes with higher speed, increased capacities and bandwidth, and what this means in engineering parlance is that it provides quality service at the speed of light,” Omoniyi said.

Speaking on the need for quality service in business, Omoniyi said VDT already had over 2,500 enterprise access points in Lagos, from where it services different customers like bank branches, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), government agencies, among other customers. “As far as quality service is concerned, we have done well and our customers are happy with our services. We have gone beyond that to get international certifications that will better improve on our quality service offerings”.
